when Pinoy's wackiest team THE PORKCHOP DUO performs at Perlas
ng Silangan Restaurant, 69-09 Roosevelt Ave., Woodside, Queens, NY.
 These famous Filipino comedians
are Rene Gomez (a.k.a. "Porky") and Romy Vargas (a.k.a. "Choppy") in real
life. Since they first combined their musical and comedic talents in 1981
they have been touching the lives of Filipinos all over the world through
their comedy performances and song renditions. They pioneered standup comedy
in the Philippines with their routines including Tatlong Itlog and
Tatlong Pinoy. Their repertoire includes nostalgic hit songs punctuated
by rib-tickling (and sometimes naughty) jokes and anecdotes guaranteed to
make even the most prudent laugh out loud.
Dubbed as the Philippines' "Showbiz Ambassadors
of Goodwill," Pork Chop Duo has performed in front of countless homesick
overseas Filipino workers. The comic duo was involved in OWWA's "Hatid-Saya"
(1987-1989), a musical outreach program bringing fun, laughter and music
to Filipinos abroad. Their performances have been known to be mostly standing
room only (SRO). From the United States and Canada, to Asia, Europe, the
Middle East and even Africa, PorkChop Duo has tickled funnybones. Be it known
that it is on record that in Milan, a Filipino diplomat almost fell from
her seat, quite breathless, laughing at PorkChop Duo's jokes!

they are the only comedy duo of their kind. Their repertoire is spiced with
