Yummy Bahay Kubo and Jeepney cakes!
 |
Londonderry, New Hampshire:
"Cake making is an exact process, the ingredients and their relations to
each other are balanced liked a chemical formula. During baking, a chemical
process takes place, transforming the raw ingredients into a delicious creation"
so states Heny Sison of the Heny Sison School of Cake Decorating and Baking.
Chie Dumont of this city, takes this to heart but adds an even greater element
to it, she and husband Ron Dumont makes cakes with a Filipino flair. The
talented Dumonts make and bake Bahay Kubo and Jeepney cakes. Not for profit
or business but as gifts to close family friends like the Palis-Umali family
of Salem, New Hampshire and as contributions to the enthusiasm of parent
volunteers at the neighboring state of Massachusetts, Bedford's Iskwelahang
Pilipino. The Dumonts did not take formal lessons in baking or cake decorating
but comes out with perfect bahay kubo, banana trees and jeepneys by creativity,
talent and patience. |
