Did you miss my column? Sorry, dear readers
if it took me a while to update my space here at Carousel Pinoy. As some
would already know, my responsibilities just keep on adding up and sometimes
it's hard to keep up with my schedules. My two new web sites
www.HollywoodFLIP.com and
www.iatalent.com have been up for quite
sometime (more than a year, perhaps) and overhauling the facade and the content
was a lot of work. Besides doing PR works, red carpet events, I have also
added some talents under my management company. Personal Management is something
that I can't really give up. It just always takes me back there. But before
anything else, I'd like to send my warmest thoughts and best wishes to Terry
Badiola, our main man here (I'm just glad he's well and up again!). Kudos
to him and to our webmaster here whom we are grateful enough for the love
and caring of this wonderful site. Anyway, let's start off with new things
happening in L.A. (And this time, I'll try to update you more often):

Maximo Oliveros cast visits Los
Angeles

Nathan Lopez and JR Valentin, stars of the
critically-acclaimed movie "Ang Pagdadalaga ni Maximo Oliveros is currently
in town for the special screening of their movie. Subtitled in English as
"The Blossoming of Maximo Oliveros," the film will be shown for one week
at the Laemmle Colorado Cinema One in Pasadena, California starting this
Thursday, August 23, 2007, where the two will have a meet and greet with
the L.A. Press. The day Nathan arrived from Manila to Los Angeles, I walked
him at the kick-off party and screening of NewFilmmakers L.A.

event. This event has been going on in New York for quite many years and
it is the most successful monthly film series in NY, managed by Barney Ornfield.
On Monday, sans JR Valentin, I took Nathan at LA Kababayan show hosted by
Jannelle So at KSCI 18 for a tv guesting, to promote the showing of their

Paco Arrespacochaga's new show GALAK TV on KSCI

And speaking of LA Channel 18, Paco Arrespacochaga
of INTRoVOYS' (I heard they just had a successful concert at the Knitting
Factory this last Saturday!) is having his new television variety show called
GALAK TV, which airs Saturdays at KSCI 18 (www.la18.tv). There will be games,
singing contest, and other exciting stuffs for the tele-viewers.

and there - magkakasabay! Katatapos lang ni Pops Fernandez um-apir sa US-Phil
Expo, tapos, may back-to back naman sila ni Kuh Ledesma sa Pala Casino. That
same Saturday night, may show rin si Kuh kasama ng Orange and Lemons with
M.Y.M.P. sa Grove Anaheim, ha! After Pops' appearance (with Tuesday Vargas)
sa US-Phil Trade & Cultural Expo sa Pomona, California, eto naman si
Martin Nievera na ex niya, one week after, in another Expo sa L.A. Convention
Center (Ba't di na lang kaya sila kinuha ng sabay sa isang show?)
Same weekend, nasa isang venue rin sina Gladys
Guevarra, Keempee de Leon, Teri Onor, at Dessa! May historic Filipino Town
event din. Yes, magkakatapat sana ang showing ng 'Angels' ni Angel Locsin
at ang Teleserye concert 'kilig' show nina Gerald Anderson, Kim Chu, Shaina
Magdayao/Raven Cruz, at John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo sa Grove Anaheim.
Hindi natuloy ang 'Angels' (dahil wala daw bumibili ng tiket).
Balitang maraming nag-aabang na mapanood ang
movie ni Aga Muhlach at Maricel Soriano na "A Love Story" sa Alex Theatre
itong darating na Sabado, Agosto 25, dahil darating daw ang dalawa. Sa susunod
na Sabado, Setyembre 1, mag-co-concert naman si Sarah Geronimo sa Anaheim
kasama nina Eric Santos, Mark Bautista, at Kris Lawrence at Raymond Manalo.
Magkakaroon din ng repeat ang "Love to Laugh" nina Ai-Ai de las Alas at Ogie
Alcasid sa Pala Casino sa Oktubre 12 (produksyon uli ni Ana Co-Puno ng Starmedia
Entertainment).

& Cultural Expo nuong Agosto 4 & 5, kung saan headliners sina Pops
Fernandez at Tuesday Vargas. Hit na hit ang huli dahil sa kakalugan nito
sa stage. Pati ang Fil-Am aktor na si Sean Michael Afable (ng "Akeelah and
the Bee" fame) at Bryan Chan (1st season ng "Making the Band" ng MTV) na
nasa backstage ay tuwang-tuwa sa kanya. Isa sa tumanggap ng Great Achievement
Award si Sean Michael Afable nitong nakaraang Expo. Last year, ay si Michael
Copon ang ni-nominate ng Publicist na 'to. Speaking of Michael Copon, katatapos
lang nitong i-shoot and pelikulang "Bring It On: 4Ever" (mula sa "Bring It
On" movie series). Nag-shooting si Michael ng tatlong buwan sa Florida at
um-attend kaagad ito ng Premiere ng "Bratz" pagbalik ng L.A.
Nagwagi ng Ms. US-Phil Expo ang 18 year-old
Fil-Am na si Krista Kliner. Mala-Ruffa Gutierrez ang dating at pananalita't
tindig nito. Hinuhubog ng queen-maker na si Monet Lu ang bata para sumali
sa Bb. Pilipinas. (Huwag lang sanang maging Janelle Bautista o Anjanette
Abayari ang bata. Nasabi ko lang 'to dahil nakakapanghinayang ang ilan sa
Fil-Am na umuuwi para magkaroon ng korona, pero dahil sa teknikal reasons
e babawian pagkatapos - kaya careful sa mga "residency" requirements,
nakapanghihinayang!)
Binabati ko uli ang mga organizers ng US-Phil
Trade & Cultural Expo dahil sa warm na pagtanggap sa mga celebs this
year. Ang maganda nito, open ang staff nito sa mga criticism dahil talagang
every year, attentive para sa anumang ikagaganda ng presentation every year.

aktor at kasalukuyang nag-shu-shooting ng bago nitong pelikula, ang "The
Cash Collector." May tv series ito sa Here TV na pinamagatang "DL Chronicles"
na siya rin ang isa sa mga bida, narrator at writer. Anim na taong gulang
ito nang pumasok sa showbiz. Isa itong commercial model bago nahilig sa
pag-aartista.
33 years-old na si Damian at may 16 years-old
itong anak na umakyat sa stage pagkatapos nitong tanggapin ang transparent
glass trophy, isang scepter na espada, ang kanyang korona, at $1,000 bilang
premyo.

taong ito, gaganapin ito sa The Gerald W. Lynch Theatre (midtown Manhattan)
sa New York City.
