Randy Santiago, Hotdog Band & VST in Best Hits Concert Tour

In the Philippine Entertainment scene, Randy Santiago's rise to stardom is considered phenomenal.

What sets Randy apart from everybody else is how he rightfully carved his place: by being A Contrarian… A Trendsetter.

Randy honed his musical talents via such groups as the Kundirana during High School days, and the Cicada Band, a popular group that toured the club circuits in Manila, Singapore and Malaysia in the early '80s.

Even then Randy stood out with his distinct singing talent and unique physical presence. Critics and followers urged him for years to go solo and finally and soon he did so in 1986.

His first single, the love song "Hindi Magbabago," quickly climbed the charts, and soon the entire Philippines were hooked on Randy. And just like his signature glasses, an accessory he always wore due to an injury he suffered when he was young, Randy went about doing his thing differently. He shifted to high energy danceable pop-rock tunes with very Filipino themes, scored hit with songs like "Babaero" and "Paikot-ikot," and thus created his own nice in Original Pilipino Music.

A string of platinum and gold recordings through the years coupled with his being a television personality assures Randy of an astonishingly large and loyal following. What makes him even more deserving of respect and admiration if the fact that he is good at musical composition as he is excellent at performing.

Yes, Randy Santiago still hasn't begun to approach his limits. He has stints as a show host, a movie actor, even a director. And he looks forward to each new creative task with the enthusiasm and energy characteristics of those who were born to break through mind sets, chart new grounds, and tower in four dimensions.

Watch out for Randy as he is set to do his hit songs and and electrifying pop numbers with the pioneers of Original Pilipino Music - The Hotdog Band and VST original members Roger Rigor and Spanky Rigor. The Best Hits Tour 2004 promises to deliver a night of unforgettable Manila sounds.

Hotdog on the other hand are best remembered for pioneering Manila sound such as "Annie Batungbakal," "Beh Buti Nga" "Manila,Manila" among many others. VST. on the other hand made famous all the swing music of the 70s like "Awitin Mo, Isasayaw Ko," "Tayo ay Magsayaw" and "Disco Fever."
