Their winning repertoire covered the full spectrum of Filipino music, sung acapella: Pamugon, a Maguindanao war song from Mindanao, Tuksuhan, a courtship folk song from the Luzon lowlands, and Paraiso, a popular song written and composed by Ryan Cayabyab.

HIMIG SINGERS to hit TORONTO! The world-renowned Himig Singers (of Davao City, Philippines) fresh from winning the top prize in the Vivace 2004 International Choir Festival and Competition held last July 29 to August 2, in Veszprem, Hungary would once again hit Toronto on October 8, 2004 to January 10, 2005. This same group wowed their Toronto audience during their 2000 & 2001 Canada and US tour with major concerts held at Minkler Auditorium and Living Arts Center.

During their three months tour in Toronto, they will be performing regularly every Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Bayanihan Banquet & Concert Hall in Scarborough. Other shows are being arranged with various promoters from Hamilton, St. Catharines, Niagara Falls, Barrie, Windsor, Ottawa and Montreal. The Himig Singers will also do special appearances and/or guest performances in various churches, religious groups and community-based organizations.
