| PIOLO PASCUAL
Piolo Pascual is a film and television actor, recording artist
and songwriter, concert performer, host, product endorser, and film producer
in the Philippines.
He has recorded several
record albums under Star Records, mounted a solo concert at the Araneta Coliseum,
and several road shows both locally and abroad. In the film "Don't Give Up
On Us," Pascual also performed the theme song for the movie. His self-titled
first album went platinum four months after its release. In his second album,
"The Gift" and "Hindi Na Lang Ikaw" were both No. 1 hits. Within less than
two months his sophomore album turned platinum. His third album turned gold
a week after its release.
Pascual celebrated his 10th
year in showbiz via his second solo major concert entitled "Ten: Piolo Pascual
at the Araneta Coliseum" (Big Dome) in 2007. During the concert, Piolo also
launched his new coffeee table book, entitled Piolo: Believing, which is
a chronicle of his life in both text and pictures. Piolo bagged the title
"Male Recording Artist of the Year" from the 36th Guillermo Mendoza Memorial
Scholarship Foundation in May 2008, together with other artists from ABS-CBN.
In 2001, Piolo Pascual was
the ultimate heartthrob. Something he never expected. He got his first huge
endorsement when he started in the huge Sprite campaign. The premise? Girls
could not help but scream I Love You Piolo and melt at the sight of him.
SAM MILBY
Sam is a Filipino-American
actor, commercial model, and recording artist. He is a
World Vision ambassador and
the spokesperson for the Department of Education. Part of the Heartthrobs
with Piolo Pascual and John Lloyd Cruz in the Sunday musical variety show
A.S.A.P. With Piolo Pascual, he did sold-out concerts titled Heartthrobs
at the Music Museum and it had SRO repeat shows following the big success
of the first concert.
Sam is a member of ABS-CBN's
elite circle of homegrown talents, Star Magic. His song "Magmahal Muli" whix\ch
he wrote and recorded topped the music charts for several weeks.
He became the most popular
house-mate among the contestants in the first season of "Pinoy Big Brother"
(2005). Right after his exit from the house, he began to receive many
movie and television offers and was later hailed as the newest "heartthrob"
of Philippine Cinema.
JOHN LLOYD CRUZ
John
Llpyd started off his early career appearing in numerous teen movies and
TV shows. He is a member of ABS-CBN's Star Magic where he's a Batch 5 alumnus.
Throughout his career, he has collaborated with Kaye Abad, Bea Alonzo and
Sarah Geronimo. Recently in mid-2009 he shifted from romantic roles to a
more controversial role portraying Luis Manzano's gay lover in the movie
In My Life together with Vilma Santos. In his TV hosting career, he's been
a member of a variety boy group called "Kanto Boys" with Billy Crawford,
Vhong Navarro, and Luis Manzano in the concert TV show ASAP. In the April
2009 issue of Summit Media's Yes! Magazine, he was hailed as the third most
powerful celebrity in the Philippines. The first and second places were occupied
by Willie Revillame and Kris Aquino respectively.
He has been with ABS-CBN
throughout his career, since he started in 1996 until the present.
BEA ALONZO
Bea is a Filipina actress
and singer. Her father is British while her mother is Filipina.
She is currently part of ABS-CBN's
contract talents. She is dubbed as the "Teleserye Drama Princess." In 2001,
she was launched as a member of Star Circle's batch and debuted as Bea Alonzo.
By early 2003, Bea caused quite a stir among critics and teleserye buffs
alike, receiving critical acclaim for her performance as awkward nerdy girl
turned feisty law student Katrina Argos in ABS-CBN's Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay.
Her convincing portrayal of a 21-year-old in spite of being only 15 at the
time and her strong chemistry with on-screen partner, John Lloyd Cruz made
both Bea and John household names to reckon with. The two are now known as
one of the country's premiere loveteams, not only known for their sizzling
chemistry but for their powerful acting prowess. In June 2008, Alonzo released
her debut album The Real Me under Star Records. It was also in mid-2008 when
Bea was announced to play the leading character of the most coveted role
as Betty Pangson in the Filipino version of the worldwide hit series, "I
Love Betty La Fea," which originated in Colombia. The show premiered in September
2008, garnering top ratings and became an instant hit.
KIM CHIU
Kim
Chiu is dubbed as the "Primetime Princess." She starred in her first primetime
TV series entitled Sana Maulit Muli, where she is once again partnered with
Gerald Anderson. Kim is a member of ABS-CBN's circle of homegrown talents
named Star Magic. Kim started her career as the first Big Winner of Pinoy
Big Brother: Teen Edition, beating 14 other teenage housemates. After 42
days of spending summer in the Big Brother house, Kim was named the Teen
Big Winner with 626,562 votes or 41.4% of the total votes at the Aliw Theater,
Cultural Center of the Philippines Complex. Kim is currently a regular performer
on ASAP. She was the leading lady in the prime time show My Girl, the Filipino
remake of the Korean series with the same title. In 2009, Kim starred in
the TV series Tayong Dalawa. This was Kim's third appearance in a primetime
TV series and the second time she worked with Gerald Anderson and Jake Cuenca
since Sana Maulit Muli. Kim was the special guest at the 2009 Philippine
Fiesta along with Gerald Anderson, which was held at Meadowlands Exposition
Center, Secaucus, NJ.
In 2010, her fans are all
thrilled to see her again in a new drama series, Kung Tayo'y Magkakalayo,
starring Gerald Anderson, Gabby Concepcion and Kris Aquino. Paano Na Kaya,
her second movie with Gerald Anderson, was recently released as Star Cinema's
opening salvo for 2010.
GERALD ANDERSON
Gerald has been dubbed
"Action-Drama Prince" he is a Filipino-American actor who
was a former housemate on
the first season of the Philippine reality television show Pinoy Big Brother:
Teen Edition. He rose to fame through the Filipino teleseryes Sana Maulit
Muli, My Girl and Tayong Dalawa. Anderson has been linked with actress Kim
Chiu professionally and personally since PBB: Teen Edition. He is currently
part of ABS-CBN's contract talents. Anderson and his loveteam partner Kim
Chiu have appeared together in several shows on the ABS-CBN Network and have
been tapped to do several television advertisements and product endorsements.
In 2008, Anderson and Chiu
launched their second and third teleseryes with ABS-CBN entitled My Girl
and My Only Hope. Anderson and Chiu had a Primetime Bida in 2009 with Jake
Cuenca entitled Tayong Dalawa (English: The Two of Us). Gerald became the
20th millionaire on the game show Kapamilya, Deal or No Deal, which aired
on Feb. 2, 2009, after winning two million Philippine pesos,
POKWANG
Pokwang
is the country's most sought-after comedienne, TV host, actress and singer.
Since winning the grand prize in the ABS-CBN reality show contest Clown in
a Million, she has become an unstoppable force in the industry. She then
became a recognizable face in the industry, subsequently appeared in dramas
and sitcoms of the network. She has received the Best Comedy Actress award
from the Philippine Movie Press Club and the Best Female Comedian award from
People's Choice Awards. She is a well-known co-host of variety show Wowowee,
entertaining the viewers every day with her funny antics and witty spiels
on the noontime show. Pokwang just recently launched her album with Star
Records titled "Pokwang...Ang Album Na May Puso," featuring the carrier single,
"Sana Kunin Ka Na Ni Lord."
RICHARD POON
Certified-Platinum recording
artist Richard Poon is the Philippines' multi-awarded Big
Band Crooner. His unique,
fresh brand of music and cool, soothing voice have made him charmingly stand
out in a crowded sea of pop male balladeers. His mother is a fomous opera
singer in Taiwan. His father is the culinary genius behind the 30-year-old
Chinese restaurant "Mr. Poon." Richard sings the "Standards"these are
immortal melodies written in the 1950s that have withstood the test of time,
popularized by Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Matt Monro, Paul Anka, Nat King
Cole, and most recently, Harry Connick, Jr. and Michael Buble. Like Buble
and Connick, Richard's vision is to blur the generational lines by masterfully
giving the old classics a fresh twist. Breaking into the music industry in
January 2008, his debut solo album "I'll Take Care of You" (MCA Music) soared
to Platinum status and continues to be one of the country's top-selling records
today. His single "I'll Take Care of You" has become the favorite serenade
of couples in Philippine wedding circles. Further solidifying his excellent
musicianship, Richard won prestigious back-to-back awards as he won both
the 2008 Awit Awards' Best New Male Recording Artist and the 2008 Aliw Awards'
Best Male Performer in Hotels, Bars and Music Lounges. In June 2009, Richard
was awarded Breakthrough Artist of the Year by the 1st Radio Music Awards
and in August, RP's sophomore album "For You" (MCA Music) turned Gold carrying
the hit single "Kumot at Unan."
LIANAH STA. ANA
Lianah
Sta. Ana will be one of the opening acts for the Heartthrobs and Friends
New York City show. Although only 10 years old, the talented vocalist from
Freehold, NJ is already a seasoned entertainer with many performances, awards
and accomplishments under her belt. She recently had the honor of singing
at a New York Knicks basketball game at Madison Square Garden, belting out
Eric Carmen's "All By Myself" during the game's halftime.
UPDATE! Lianah has reached the finals of
this year's NY Knicks KidzBop Sports Jamz Talent Search and will compete
head-to-head against the other finalist, fellow New Jerseyan Fil-Am Nina
Waga Mojares at halftime during the Knicks-Miami Heat game at Madison
Square Garden Sunday, April 11. Lianah has another very exciting event coming
upon Wednesday, April 14 at 7:30 pm she will compete in Amateur Night
at the famed Apollo Theater in New York City. She is scheduled to appear
on Spotlight with Della Crews on News 12 New Jersey on April
27. And this summer she will be a contestant at the World Championships of
Performing Arts (WCOPA) in Hollywood, CA.
Lianah lives with her parents,
Nailah and Nathan, and younger sister Maya, in Freehold Township, NJ where
she is a fifth grader at the Laura Donovan School. Her busy schedule also
includes vocal instruction and piano lessons, and she practices her singing
every day to perfect even futher her natural gift of song. A big fan of Charice
Pempengco, Lianah hopes one day to be able to perform with her idol.
